For the video challenged who still want to participate, how to record video and what to do with it afterward:
Most point-and-shoot cameras and cell phones (and even a few DSLR's) now have video capability. In order to record a video, just set your camera to the video/movie mode, then press the shutter to begin recording and press it again to stop. Very few cameras will focus while zooming, so make sure you have your camera zoomed and/or composed before you being recording.

In order to get the movies you've made to your computer, you can usually download them or import them just like regular photos. I use iPhoto which lets me see them right in there with my still photos. You may even choose to edit them somewhat, chopping out bits you don't need, adding music or editing colors.
To upload them so others can watch them, you can use YouTube, Flickr or Vimeo which are all free. Just copy the 'embed' link and use the HTML tab when posting into the DITL community.
